My baby is 2 and half years old. I have to make her wear daipers as day care centers would not potty train. Can anybody help me. I am ready to take 2 weeks vacation to potty train her. I want to prepare myself to train her. Is there anybody who has gone through similar situation.

I am not sure if you can potty train your baby within 2 weeks. Do not get pressurized by this issue as this will pass on to your baby's potty training indirectly and it will be delayed. Encourage him to sit on potty, you can try keeping the potty in front of TV and put on his fav cartoons. This way he will get used to the potty. You can make him sit initially with the diapers and then slowly without diapers. Appericaite him if he uses the potty. This is slow process dont expect results overnight,

Whenver your baby uses potty, praise him and reward him with his favourites. Changing a diaper in the bathroom will also associate the process with the place. Children over age 2 should avoid using changing table.
Let your child practice lowering and raising training pants, or putting them on and taking them off.
let the child flush the toilet for you, to help him or her get used to the noise it makes and avoid possible fear.
Some children fear to the sound of the poop falling in water..coming out of their body. Try to make this process fear free.

Make your toilet kid friendly and playfool palce. Keep some support in the toilet so kids can reach to the tap themeselves with your observation. Keep some toys in the bathrom so they can play while siting on the toilet. Spend some time in the bathroom with him so he get used to the place and like it.

You need more time to train your kid. But you can do it whenever you are with her.

Let me share my experience here. Some how I was able to train my daughter; but when it came to my son, it was not that easy. But his teachers in school where we had got him admitted have told us to train him before he starts school. So every day morning, we started waking him up a bit early. Then we took him to the toilet and told him that we have to use this from now on. Though it took us almost 2 months, we know we finally made it. You need a lot of patience.

Dear Friends,

I have no experience in this field, all that I recollect is my mom saying, I gave her a tough time as I loved to see her Pissed!!

Ha Ha Ha.

I used to send my son with my husband whenever he had to go to the toilet. That way when he saw his father, he just followed.:D

POTTY TRAINING FOR MY 13 MONTHS OLD BABY

I bring a pot for my baby and every 1 or 1.5 hrs I trained him to sit on it. In the morning time when he wake up I just make him sit on that pot and make a voice of shhshshshhsh(I know its funny) and eventually he learned but not everytime but sometime when he is in pressure then lift up that pot and it was the sign that he wants to go toilet.

Cheers

Bhawana, yes, kids get used to potty once you make them a habit everyday.
