To clean dirty comb, add two tablespoon of washing soda /baking soda to a bowl of water, soak the comb in it, leave it for 30 minutes. The comb will be absolutely clean.

Take hot water and add detergent to that. Put in the dirty combs after removing hair which is stuck in between.
Leave it for sometime and then scrub the dirt out. You can get a comb cleaner in the pavement shops, a small brush like thing. Use it to clean the dirt out every now and then or make it a point to soak the comb once in a week.
Dirty combs can also get you itching of the scalp and hair loss.

I soak it in detergent for one hour and then with a old tooth brush, just brush the teeth of the comb. In a minute you will have sparkling clean comb in hand.

Usually I dilute the shampoo and apply on the combs.
I use a separate toothbrush (better to buy a reasonably priced toothbrush & keep it exclusively for cleaning combs)

Use this brush to clean in between the teeth. After washing it thoroughly, dry using a papertowel/clean cloth towel.

One more thing, better to clean them every week and have separate combs for each family members.

I also use a old toothbrush for cleaning the combs..maintaining seperate combs for each person prevents the spread of dandruff and lice
