Dark Underarms

My underarms are very dark. I keep them clean by shaving off once in two weeks. I can hardly wear sleevless as within 3 days hair starts sprouting.
They are much darker than rest of my body colour.
My cousin is planning to get married in february, all my sisters have decided to wear similar kind of dresses, unfortunately they are sleevless. Please help....

One of the reason for dark underarms is shaving and sprouting of hair is also because o shaving. Stop Shaving your underarms. your new growth will be thick and rough. Waxing is the best method, If for any reason you cannot do waxing you can use hair removing creams.
Please stop shaving...

I agree with bavana, shaving can ruin your underarms. Rub lemon juice on underarms to get rid of darkness. It is a lengthy process. It wont happen overnight.

Avoid shaving of under arms; but as you have been doing it so long, as you have time till February, you still can do some justice. Do this regularly; While taking bath, use this mixture, specially for your underarms:

To a spoon of gramflour, add a spoon of sandal wood powder and a pinch of Kasturi turmeric powder and 5 drops of lime juice. Make a thin paste, apply under arms leave if for a few mins, then wash off.

Use natural scrub made of gram dal flour and beasn dal flour. This will help to reduce the colour much more better.

Sakhis, thanks for all the tips. I am getting there, not quiet there yet but atleast can dream of wearing sleevless. Your tips are very useful.
Rajmi I am using gram flour,sandlawood with turmeric. I dont know what is kasturi turmeric?

Kasturi turmeric is not regualr cooking turmeric. kasturi turmeric is nto used for cookiing and it is little bit stronger than regular turmeric.
Kasturi turmeric is also known as Amba Haldi/Bana Hald/Jangli Haldi --- these are actual names for Kasturi Manjal in Hindi.
I hope you find one of the name familiar. You get this is in any ayurvedic stores.

Avoid using the same blade for long, as the sharpness goes off, throw it.

Clean your underarms with cleansing milk often.

After 3 days of shaving your underarms apply a paste of raw potato cut in to pieces and ground in a mixer with lime juice. Wait for 15 minutes and wash off.

You can make this paste and refrigerate it and apply it every day.

dear sharon,i had a tip from my parlour and it helped me alot for this darkness.before taking bath,rub shaving cream underarms and leave for atleast 10 minutes.rinse thoroughly.slowly it will vanish the darkness.

this might be already but it might still help. here's a good tip. instead of shaving, pluck or wax instead. hair won't grow fast and it does not cause darkness unlike with shaving. another thing is use a skin lightening cream to boost up the lightening process. one good brand i can recommend is Metaderm. i've been on it for my dark underarms and some skin discoloration and it really lightens.apply this cream on your underarms before you sleep after washing off the deodorant. hope this helps you and the rest.
