I am also trying to loose weight. Here are some of the tips n tricks I do
Start my lunch with salad and then eat main lunch.
Start my dinner with soup followed by main course.
Drink lot of fluids
Cut down on sugar,rice,potatoes
Drink 3 glasses of water to flush toxins.
With my schedule I cannot exercise everyday..although this should not be an excuse for being lazy.
I try to walk 15 minutes 3 times a day whenever I get some time.
I avoid soda,chips,choclates,cakes.
I keep fruits and dark choclate handy to satisfy my sweet tooth

Half chicken boiled and shredded,1 bunch of spring onions , 1 cup of Pineapple chopped , 10 olives , A small bunch of Parsley ,2 tomatoes,Salt and Pepper to taste, 2 teaspoon Olive oil, Tabasco sauce or tomato sauce

METHOD
Put chicken in the bowl. Add the spring onions chopped along with white onions. Add chopped Olives. Add chopped tomatoes. Add chopped pineapple to the bowl. Now sprinkle salt and pepper as per your taste. Toss the salad. Sprinkle the olive oil over the salad. Toss again. Decorate with parsley on top

You can eat with Tabasco sauce or tomato sauce. This salad is high in proteins and aids in weight loss.

Most of the time when you feel urge to snack it may be urge to hydrate your body. To avoid eating snacks all time, first thing when you feel hungry is drink ICE COLD WATER and if you are still hungry go for healthy snacks like nuts, fruits, carrots.
I am stressing ice cold water as I found I eat less when I drink ice cold water than regular water. DO not drink ice cold water before, after or during main meals as it weakens the digestive fire.

Sabmeh, I am little but confused about drinking ICE COLD WATER. You have mentioned not to drink ice cold water during ,after and before meals.
When should we be drinking ice cold water ?

I am sorry baout it. I did not explain it right. When you are eating your main meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner so not drink cold water within 30 minutes before and after.
Other times when you drink water drink ice cold water. Make sure you are not prone to cold and cough before you try it.

Count me in too, I have started loosing weight; I am not dieting but I am eating healthy food and exercising regularly. I do Surya namaskaram and also started walking. I have stopped snacking, and whenever I feel like doing so, I take fresh juice, either tomato or fresh lime or something like that, this energizes me and at the same time, it have given me strength too.

I eat lots of fruits and vegetable salads too.

rajmiarun, Do you make fresh tomato juice? can you please post the method on how to make fresh tomato juice.

rajmiarun
December 7th, 2008, 12:00 AM
Dear Sabmeh,
This is how I make fresh Tomato Juice:

2 Ripe Tomatoes (Banglore Tomatoes are the best)
Sugar (if you are a sugar patient, or prone to it, then you can take salt and pepper powder)

Boil whole tomatoes in a bowl (make sure that the tomatoes are submerged).
Let it cool down. Remove and peel the skin. If you are careful, you will peel only the skin and leave the flesh intact. But if you feel that a little of the flesh is still in the skin, then take a small cup of water and put the skin and squeeze out the flesh.

Make a fine paste of the two tomatoes. Then add sugar or salt and pepper. Add water to make it slightly thinner. This will be a filling food.

You can take bananas also as a snack.

Cut bananas into small pieces. Sprinkle a spoon of sugar over it and mix it thoroughly. Keep in fridge for some time and you can eat it; or just add a cup of chilled milk to the banana and have it. (The taste is great).

You can make banana milkshake also as a fresh juice.

Dear Sabmeh,
You have in one of your posts have said that when need of snacking you can have carrots. What I do in general is whenever I find time, I just scrape the carrots and keep it in fridge and use it. Along with this, I have sprouted moong or soaked and drained moong dal. This is a healthy and filling snack. To the carrot and moongdal mixture you can garnish with coriander leaves, pudina leaves, curry leaves also if you like.

hi friends, i am lavanya.... Its all very nice to see you all together to support each other in lossing weight. Very interesting... Well, dont want to loose weight any more, but i would like to give some tips which helped in personally to loose weight.

Currently i am in Uk. I put on weight after my delivery, and once i stoped feeding......hooo god i really put another 10 kg extra. I had a traget to looose my weight and come back to normal before my daughters 1st birthday.....and i did it, and i also lost extra few pound, which really made me so happy and people started to appriciate me and really too suprised to see me like this. I basically use to be 54 kg before i got pregnant ,and but on 18 kg extra. Well......i will stop and come straight to the point.....

Well, once you decided to loose weight, follow the steps ( which i followed and really worked for me)

1. Drink plenty of water
2. I use to go for walking in morning for solid one hr. ( Plz do this regularly at any cost. At first it may seem as if there is no use, but it is very useful and very effective)
3. Eat only chappati in nighttime, and that too only 3 chapathi without any curry or side dish.
4. go for some extra activity like swimming or shuttle , just 1 -2 hr a week ( and i use to play shuttle for 2 hrs in a week.)
5. The 5th tip is something i did, but i dont want anyone to follow if they dont like. It is not gud for health, but because i wanted to loose weight i did it for just one month............so friends plz dont mistake me to give such a tip....Well that tip is skipping th break fast. I know it is not a gud advice, but still i did for 1 month which gave me grt change. But once i came back to my 50 kg fig, i started to take my breakfast........So if you know like plz leave it..You can just follow the first 4 tips..

friends sorry for posting such a big reply..........Do trust me, i did it and i came back from 69 to 50 kg in just 3 months.

Lavanya, no useful postinng is big posting. When you hear real story about loosing weight it is more motivating. I would agree to all your tips except skipping breakfast as I read that skipping breakfast is not healthy.
You have really put in efforts to loose those extra pounds.

Shalini, that is easy and doable. Drinking water helps you in so many ways. It detoxifies the body.

Losing weight has to be done with the consent of a doctor as each body has its own biological needs.

Do not follow tips without consenting any doctor, your body metabolism can go for a big toss.

BEWARE!

Swapna, I am trying to shift to green tea. I shift to green tea for couple of days and then shift back to regular tea. How do you manage? give some tips.

sharonfern1
January 5th, 2010, 08:00 PM
Nidhi, move to green tea slowly and steadily. If you do the shift from regular tea to green tea all at once, it ma be difficult. SLow and steady wins the race.
