Dear all,
Let us all share simple kitchen tips and tricks that we follow. This is sure to help all of us.

Here are some:

1. Before you peel onions, if you keep them in water (be it big or small ones), for some time, you wont shed tears.

2. Instead of using knives, use kitchen scissors to cut green chillies, coriander leaves, fresh mint and curry leaves.

3. Add a few drops of salt water to banana chips while frying them as this will make the chips crisper.

4. To remove the odour from knife after cutting onion and garlic, rub it with a piece of lemon.

5. While cutting vegetables, if they are cut uniformly, then it will be easier to cook. The nutrients will not be lost.

6. Soak almonds in hot water for 15 to 20 mins to remove the skin easily.

7. Store nuts in air-tight containers especially in monsoon and winter season, so that they wont get spoiled easily.

Hi,

You can also store peeled onions in the refrigerator before cutting them. Tears will not come even if you mince them.

I always do like that.
