LOLLIPOPS ON FIRE
Ingredients:
1 packet chicken lollipops
Chilli powder as needed ( according to how hot you would like it to be)
Juice of two limes
1 cup boiling water
whole garam masala ( cinnamon and star anise only ) 2 each
2 tbsp soya sauce
2 tsp brown sugar ( can use ordinary sugar also)
Salt to taste
1/4 cup chopped spring onions ( with green leaves and onions)
Method:
Clean chicken lollipops. Mix chilli powder, lime juice, salt and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Take a non stick fry pan , put in the marinated lollipops and cook till it starts changing colour. Add a small cup of water, star anise and cinnamon ( whole so that you can remove them later) and cook till the chicken gets tender and the water dries up.
Add soya sauce and sugar and simmer covered till the chicken is just coated with the sauce. Add chopped spring onions and cover for a minute.
Serve hot as an appetizer or starter before dinner or as a snack with aluminium foils covering the end portion for easy handling.
Note:
You can also add broken red chillies to the chicken when you add water and garam masala instead of adding the chilli powder so that you can serve it as a side dish with Fried Rice or Jeera Pulao.
