Swapna, lipsticks can be harmful. Select lipsticks of good quality and good company. Anything overdone is not good for health. Having lipstick 10 hours everyday on your lips is harmful, so use in moderation. Lipstick is like a addiction, If you get used to it, it becomes very difficult to go without lipstick.

i never use lipsticks, neither i have any till today.its not that i cant carry makeup, but i dont like it.its better to be natural, though simple looking.yes,i think lipsticks are harmful for skin,as they add to darkening of lips, and then, one has to apply regularly.

yes Jyoti...no doubt it's harmful ...but still now-a-days all taking lipsticks as one of the mandatory part of make up...once my kids school teacher told me to apply lipsticks to my kids for their annual function......here i can get that now teachers train their students to use lipsticks :)

Recent research has pointed out that applying too much lipstick can cause serious health problems, including cancer.

Lipstick contains lead which is a highly toxic substance. Apart from lead, it also contains other heavy metals like nickel, copper, chromium, arsenic and cobalt. Now when a woman applies the lipstick, some of these toxic substances are absorbed by the lips and make way to their digestive system. The rest of them are either absorbed by the pigments of the skin or they react with other chemicals present in the environment causing rashes on the lips. Also, many times a large amount of lead and copper from the lipstick is consumed while eating or drinking.Lead and copper react with the enzymes present in the stomach and can cause turbulence by disrupting the normal functioning of the digestive system.

I use lipsticks occasionaly. Lipsticks are made up of chemicals which we tend to force in our system.
For dryness I use ghee at night or honey.
