save water

Lets start new thread about saving water .
Use the water used for cleaning vegetables,lentils and rice to water your plants. You will be saving water as well as providing nutrients to the plants.

The water that is used to mop the house is used to clean the bathrooms and toilets.
We make sure that unless and untill it is necessary, we dont use the shower to take bath. We use a bucket and mug.
We have installed a cistern that have two knobs, one small and one bigger. The smaller one allows to use less water and the bigger one to use more water.
The water that flows out of the over head tank goes to the plants that we have planted.

I am planning to implement the idea of cistern that have two knobs.
In my house there is rule if you are not using water shut it off.
While brushing teeths, turn the knob on only when you feel you are ready to use it.

You post a good topic... we can do these things to save the valuable water
Never the tap open while brushing your teeth.
Never tap open while washing your dishes.
Always take water as per your thirst.
Wipe the floor instead of washing the whole area.
