Dry hair basically needs more moisture. Avoid shampoos and conditioner with harsh chemicals. Use ayurvedic products or at home made shampoos.
Hot oil treatments followed by mild shampoo once a week. Use olive oil or coconut oil. Heat oil, apply to sections of hair and scalp and wrap hair in a hot towel for 15 minutes. Leave on for a few hours and wash it out with a mild shampoo and conditioner. You can also use a hair mask once a week- at home version would be egg yoks or mayyonaise. If you dont like the smell of eggs, add few drops of lemon juice.
Include lot of vegetables, fruits, liquids including water in your diet.

Aloe Vera, is a good remedy for dry hair. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Clean the leaf with cold water. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour, wash it off and watch the dryness disappear slowly. You shoudl keep patiience with home remedies as it takes little bit more time than allopathic medicines or conditioners with chemicals. Effects of natural therapies remain for a long time and sometimes can give permanant releif. Aloe vera is only herb whcih I know is good for face and also hair.

keeping your hair moisturized is more important for dry hair. Avoid sun. Cover your hair to avoid harsh sun rays. if possible oil your hair 3 times a week and wash with natural shampoo

Ashmita, split ends follow dry hair. You may not notice intially but eventually it becomes a big problem. Trim split hair ends regularly. Avoid heat from direct sunlight, blow drying, straigtening of hair to prevent further drying up of hair.

Dry hair is due to inactive oil glands. It is also caused by other factors like over exposure to the sun, using harsh shampoo and chemical treatment.

Accumulated oil, block the pores not allowing the oil to flow on to the surface. This is another reason for dry hair. Dry hair would need plenty of nourishment.

Massage well with a warm herbal oil at least twice a week. Follow a diet rich in zinc. Use a mild shampoo and avoid harsh ones since the chemicals in them can strip hair of its outer protein layer, further drying the scalp. Do not use electric curlers and hair dryers.

Dry hair can split and fall off easily, so precaution is always better than cure.

Care is must for your body or other organs because they belong to you only

Keep your hair moisturized from roots to the end.
If you cannot apply oil while going out, try some unscented oil on the roots. Massage you hair with few drops of oil everyday and twice a week apply lot of oil and wash your hair with mild herbal shampoo n conditioner.

Simple Coconut Oil Treatment:

Heat coconut oil and apply it on the root of the hair(behind your head at the bottom) and leave it for 15mins, then have a quick shampoo and rinse your hair well. Avoid using conditioners which will definitely help avoiding damage to your hair and reduce hair fall.

I have made Amla oil at home.
Ingredients: Coconut oil and dried amla.
Fry amla in coconut oil, you will see the oil turns into black color.

I use this oil for massaging my hair roots.

If you have dry hair, you need not worry. There are actually home hair remedies that you can do to save it from being dry. Many ingredients found in your kitchen can actually be used to nourish it. Almonds, olive oil, lavender oil, coconut oil, eggs, flour, lime, milk, beer and bananas can bring back the glow in your hair, dry hair needs it more than it needs a shampoo,Trim your hair every 6 months to cut off split ends and avoid using curling or straightening irons.

Take half a cup of coconut oil. Crush 4 almonds and add to oil. Steam this mixture by placing it inside a pan. Apply while still warm, deep into the scalp and into roots of your hair. Cover your head with a towel and leave it on for half an hour. Shampoo your hair.
