Today again it is the same time around to celebrate the opening of dams all around south india,http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IgFfW3xPTg8/SbF0QmKoe5I/AAAAAAAAAmE/uadnw39IMxs/s320/Chitrannam+1.jpg
Yes it is aadiperukku:
We usually do different rice like tamarind rice, lemon rice, sweet coconut rice, salt coconut rice and dahi rice, make a avail the mixed veggy with curd in it. And some fried papad items, what with rain all over and fertile look of greenery this only brings back memories of coming together and my mother taking the trouble to mix the tamarind rice and other mixed rices and all having a go at it,
So this time around I am in pune in my elder daughter’s house and all the mixes are ready all I have to cook is avail and mix all the mixes with hot hot rice which I would be preparing so sakhis what is your festival during this month would love to know about it…..sunkan

dear suva,
scrape coconut say half of a coconut
coconut oil
mustard, urad dhall, chana dhall, peanuts, cashew nuts, kadi patha, and dry red chillies.
all 1tsp kind not much now add the coconut oil and put all one by one in order and once they fry to golden add the scraped coconut and salt and that also turns light golden take it out, now u can use this mixture to make the rice just add hot rice that has seperate grain level only then these rices will taste good, mix well and have it with nice kadi or mixed veggy or simply fried fryums

Yummmmmmmmmmmmy coconut rice. I felt as if I am eating. I can say virtual eating. I am going to try this rice in a day or two. I would be describing about a very nice festival in my coming blog. You can read how much special is that festival in every oriya girls life. Enjoy your stay at your daughter's house. Say hi to her.

beauty of India is festival celebrations and food. Some people have tried to become so called modern and forget festivals but festivals are mean to relax. sunkan, it is so nice of you to celebrate festivals and cook authentic meal.

dear lalita,
life in itself is colorful only when we make it, alittle bit of attention and one can make a memorable festival with simple authentic food, one all would remmember what to be made on that day, second they all look forward that particular item should be there, none expect a okkarai on a pongal day kind
