Hi Gals!
A quick Chicken curry which can be whipped up in a jiffy!
Basic Chicken Curry
1 kg. - Chicken, cut up
2 - Onions sliced
1 - Tomato, chopped
1 - tsp each - Ginger and garlic paste
2 tsps. - Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp. - Turmeric Powder
1 tsp. - Coriander Powder
1/2 tsp. - Jeera Powder
1/4 tsp. - Garam Masala Powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp. - oil
Pour oil into hot pot. Add onion slices, fry till translucent. Now add tomatoes, cook till it blends well with onions. Add G-G paste, fry till raw smell disappears.
Mix all the dry powder masalas in a little hot water, add to the pot, fry well over low heat, close pot and allow to cook for 3 to 4 mts. over slow fire.
Now add the chicken, saute till well coated with the masala. Then add about 3/4 to 1 cup of water (u r the best to decide how much of water to add, coz sometime the chicken gives out water too!) Close and cook on medium fire till gravy is thick and chicken is cooked. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Goes well with Basmati rice, rotis, phulkas and Poori!
