I have done administrative work 12 years back. I want to start my own business. I have typing skills, computer knowledge and good administrative skills.

Since you have good admin experience, computer knowdldge. I think you should look into medical billing career. You can work from home or work for somebody else. Take experience working for some billing office or doctors office. It is very easy to learn. Learn billing and learn some billing softwares. you can also enroll in some coursework. Do some research on internet about the availaible courses in medical billing. Skills needed for medical biiling are computer skills, admin and medical billing business logic and lot of follow up on rejecetd bills.
Once you get some experience you are ready to build your own empire

Shailunaipal, thanks for your advice. I was busy with some family emergency so could not visit internet much. Medical billing sounds intresting, but do I need any medical knowledge or certification to start medical billing?

There are certification programs in medical billing but you dont need certification to work in medical billing. Initially you can work at doctors office to learn basics. Medical billing you can do from home or work for billing
company. Medical coding requires medical terminology and better to do the coursework if you want to pursue in medical coding and does not have experience. To pursue career in medical billing basically you need administrative skills and one or two medical softwares.
