Aloe Vera is very good for skin and hairs. Instead of using aloe vera cream I would like to have my own aloe vera plant,so I can use fresh aloe vera gel for my skin. Anybody knows how to grow aloe vera?

Aloe vera does not requier much care. It needs very little water and sunlight. You can plant small plant of aloe vera with the roots and water it 3 times a week. You will have lots of aloe within 3 months.

Mals, I am not member of any other site. Came across NaariSakhi site as one of my friends baby was contesting baby photo contest, watched forums for a while, liked it, registered n got hooked.
Regarding my gardening know how, I am just ordinary person who like plants and learnt through experience and friends. Best source to learn tips n tricks about gardening is older generation who has worked in fields. They really have good tips.

hai friends aloe vera belongs to the cacti variety that need very less water we use this to make kajal for kids and hair care just grind it and rub into your scalp for soft and smooth hair with dandruff taking a walk for good. it is cooling to take it sometime we should take this empty stomach in the morning to heal the inner infections cut the outer leathery stuff and dip the rest in water wash a little and swalloable pieces and just put it at the end of the throat as it is too bitter and swallow or put it in a butter ball and swallow...

Preparing the Aloe Vera Garden Site

If you are planting Aloe Vera indoors, you should plant in rich quality soil that contains a mixture of sand, compost and pebbles.
Make sure that good drainage is available at the base of the pot. If you have a large area, you can use a large pot that measures eighteen inches in diameter. A large pot will allow Aloe Vera to grow to its full size.
If you want to plant it in a greenhouse, you have to prepare a glass frame to cover it from extreme cold.

Required Materials

• Aloe vera
• Large pots
• Fertilizer for the soil
Watering Requirements

You should water at least once a week particularly when you observe that the soil is dry. However, do not over water Aloe Vera; one or two cups of three hundred milliliters of water will be enough.
During hot seasons, the entire pot of Aloe Vera can be soaked but you have to ensure that good drainage is available so as not to rot the roots.

Nutrients Needed

Aloe Vera needs sunlight and enough water for its own growth. Apart from that, it is advisable that you uproot all weeds to ensure that the soil retains its acidic pH. You can also add ammonium nitrate to the soil every year as a supplement.

Seasons Suited

Widely cultivated in tropical regions, Aloe Vera flourishes in dry and warm locations. Planting Aloe Vera may not be successful for those living in cold climates.

Benefits

Aloe vera is a herbal plant and can be found in many commercialized herbal preparations in the market. If you grow Aloe Vera under suitable conditions, it is likely that you will see positive results too.

Here are some beneficial uses of Aloe vera extracts

1. The salicylates and magnesium lactate help prevent Bronchities, allergies and Sinusitis .
2. Mannan polysaccharides found in Aloe Vera help strengthen the immune system.
3. The plant is also the source of aloe vera gel that can be used to heal burns and wounds. It is also used as a constituent in creams that moisturize the skin.
4. very very good for diabetics who find it difficult to heal the wounds and just cut this a small piece and rub the slimy part over the open wound after wiping it with salt water and dry. The very next day it heals so well sometime the skin covers the wound so fast….sunkan
