Electricity prices are going up day by day. Some tips to save on electricity.
Use ceiling fan instead of airconditioner. Turn off the lights when leaving room.
Use your window and drapes effectively. On cold days open the windows to get sunshine to heat the house and on warm days cover the windows so your house stays cooler.

1. Use pots and pans that fit your burners to keep heat from escaping.
2. The ice that builds up over time can cause it to work harder to keep the temperature down. Defrost your freezer whenever needed if you do not have auto defrost facilty for your freezer.
3. Keep your refrigerator stocked. It takes more energy to cool an empty fridge than a full one.
4. Plug electronics into power strips that you can easily switch off when these items aren’t in use. You’ll keep them from continuing to consume power when they’re turned off.
5. If you have a laptop, you’re in luck! They can consume up to 90% less energy than a desktop.
6. Set your computer to automatically switch to sleep mode after it’s been idle for about 20 minutes.
7.Place electronics and appliances away from air conditioning units. The heat they generate can make the air conditioner work longer.
8. Unplug battery and phone chargers when not in use or when these items are fully charged.

When you leave any room make sure you shut off the light. If you have A/c on set it on auto so it gets automatically shut off in case you forget.
When A/C is on, keep fan on on low so you circulate air and A/C unit will consume less electricity.
Best of all GO TO BED EARLY
good for health and you can save electricity:)

If weather is favourable try using solar energy. You can get water supply for bath and other household chore using solar power. Initially it will be little bit of expense but saves lot of money in the long run. Investment pays off

Frequently opening and closing the refrigerator door can increase your electric bill. For extra energy savings, it's a good idea to clean the condenser coils behind or underneath the refrigerator every six months

Try replacing incandescent lights with fluorescent. Fluorescents give you the same light output, but for one-third to one-half the cost. They also produce less heat for your air conditioner to cool.

Use the washing machine only when you have a full load of clothes and not just 2-3 clothes, that would be a sure waste of power.
