View Full Version : Easy to make healthy breakfast

This is a great recipe that is filling. A great recipe.

Ingredients:
Boiled rice - 1 cup
Whole moong - ½ cup
Methi seeds - 2 tsp (if you are comfortable with methi leaves, take one bunch)
Garlic - 2 pieces
Coconut (fresh) - 3/4th to 1 cup
Dry ginger powder - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Salt

Method:

Soak rice & moong for 1 hour.
Wash & mix methi seeds & garlic.
Add 5-6 cups of water &pressurise for 15 mts.
Add I cup of warm water to the coconut & extract milk.
Cool the cooker, open the contents, add salt, coconut milk curry leaves.

For Thugayal:

Fried red chillies - 7,8
Coconut - 1 cup
Tamarind paste - 2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Salt
Grind together.


This Kanji / Porridge makes a very healthy breakfast.

This sounds healthy and yummy.Usually healthy foods are not yummy.
I will definately give it a try.

I tried healthy breakfast recipe but I had it for lunch as I dont like rice for breakfast except rice crispy cereals. It is a great recipe. It si healthy n yummy. Keep posting

Rajmi very healthy recipe. I liked thugayal recipe as it goes with dosa,idli and rice.

Oh yes Surekha,
I make a little extra of that thugayal, every time I make it. It is a great hit in our family and as you say it goes well with any thing. You know something, it is a great side dish for Rasam rice.

Sunkanji,
You can take it at any time of the day, though, I have posted it as a breakfast recipe, I sometimes take it even in night.
