Generosity
This is very touching experience in my life. A day in my life I will always remember.
I was working in ice cream store where I had two sweet little customers entering my store and asked for two strawberry ice creams. Both were living in the neighborhood, I had seen them couple of times before, with their parent driving by in a 500 series Mercedes in the mall parking lot where I was working. They were two sisters; I asked the one who looked elder, what size they want? She told me the size and asked me the price, I told her the price.
She took out some change from her pocket and counted the money and then had a chat with her sister and then asked for the price of a smaller cup. I told her the price. She did some counting again and then told her sister to wait and then asked me the price for a medium ice cream cone, I was little angry but told her the price very calmly.
Well, she looked at her sister and then she told her something and turned around and asked me the price for a small cup ice cream. I was little pissed; I told her the price and I asked her whether she is going to buy the ice cream or just going to ask me the price. She said very nicely, “yes”; and then counted the money in her hand and gave some change to her sister and then asked me, “Can we have two small cups of strawberry ice cream please?”
I took two small cups put one scoop each and gave the ice cream to both sisters and told them the total price. The elder sister gave me all the money she had in her hand and I took out the exact total and gave her back the remainder which was just some little change. She asked her younger sister to put the change which she had earlier given to her in my tip jar which was empty, and after putting the change in the jar they said thank you and left.
I was surprised at their gesture and just for curiosity counted the change. Surprisingly, they had left me a tip with which they could have easily bought two medium cups of ice cream. I was very upset when I realized why they were counting the money and asking me the price again and again.

Guilt was killing me for being so mean to kids, who sacrificed big cup of icecream so they can tip me. This incident changed my attitude towards life.

Certain guilt feeling will remain in heart forever! It was so sweet of the kids to tip you so heavily at an age when ice-cream means the world to them.

Very well written, I can imagine how guilty you will feel after that incident.
Everything happens for reason in life. It taught you something.

Unbelievable to know such tiny kids taught all of us a good lesson, "Dont jump in to conclusions, it is not always what you think, it can be other way to and for a good cause".

Thanks for sharing.
