Dear friends,
I have a LG convection model microwave. I am supposed to get a demo of all the cooking methods but as we are slightly out of the city, that person didnot turn up till date (it is almost an year).
As it is a convection model I want to bake cookies and make cake using that. Can anyone guide me through how to bake cake using a convection microwave. Because I have been reading through some of the cake making recipes and they say that I have to preheat the oven (I think that is for the conventional ovens or OTGs will that go good for this also).
Hope to get guidance from you all.
Pls give me some eggless cakes, puddings, cookies recipes also along with regular ones.

Moist Microwave Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or 1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup fine powdered sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chocolate syrup
Chopped nuts optional
Method:
Mix together butter and sugar to form a cream; add eggs and beat until fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder, and chopped nuts. Add sifted dry ingredients, vanilla and chocolate syrup to sugar, butter and egg mixture. Beat until thoroughly blended. Pour into an 8-inch square or round glass baking dish. Cook, uncovered, 7 minutes in microwave oven.
FROSTING:
While cake is still warm, spread 1 cup miniature marshmallows over the top. In microwave oven, melt 2 tablespoons butter for 30 seconds in glass mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons evaporated milk; mix thoroughly. Cook uncovered, for 2 minutes. Quickly mix in 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over cake and blend with marshmallows. You can use readymade frosting also.
Microwave cooking times are approximate. Cooking time varies with the model of microwave oven. You can check if cake is cooked by passing knife through the cake. If it comes out clean it is cooked otherwise you need to cook for some more time.

My friend had emailed me this recipe. I never tried it.
Eggless Vanilla Cake
Ingredients
200 grams Maida
1 level tsp Baking powder
2 pinches Baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Butter- 100 grams
400 grams Condensed Milk
Milk about 200 ml
Method:
Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl for around 30 seconds on micro high. Now add the condensed milk and beat well. Sieve the mix of maida, baking powder and baking soda around 3 to 4 times. Add it to the butter and condensed milk mix little by little and blend it well using cut and fold technique. Add the milk to get the required consistency and finally add the essence. Grease a microwave safe bowl and pour the batter. Microwave on high without covering it for 7 to8 minutes.
Check if it is baked properly by piercing tooth pick. If tooth pick comes out clean it is done otherwise microwave for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Decorate the cake as desired using cream and icing sugar or strawberry or cherries.

Hi Tulsi,
Thanks for the recipe. I was wondering whether you need to preheat the oven etc to bake a cake just like they do it for the normal oven. But yours and Mukti's recipe told me that it is not necessary. Will try it out soon and let you know.
