Help me reduce double chin. Double chin runs in my family. I have noticed slowly I am moving in to that category.
Any tips to reduce double chin?

1. Have diet high in fibre and less in fat to avoid that excess fat.
2. Do not use fluffy pillows. If possible avoid pillows completely and sleep on hard bed.
Exercise:
1. Position yourself on a chair in front of the mirror(optional) and then look up to the ceiling. From that position, stretch your neck to look over the right shoulder and then follow it by doing the same over your left. Finally bring your neck to look in front and lower it to touch it to your clavicle bone. Do this exercise very slowly to get good results
2. Be seated on a chair with a table in front. Put your right elbow on the table with your folded hand pressing your chin side-ways from below. Now try to open your mouth while, at the same time, put pressure from your hand to prevent the mouth from opening. You can practice this exercise 2 to 3 times a day.
3. Bring your two feet together and stand erect. Now gradually tilt your head backwards. When having reached the point, you can tilt your neck back as far away as possible, and then freeze your movement. This way, by putting pressure on the chin with reverse movement, you can make your chin free from the folds of flesh.

Head stand pose also helps to reduce double chin along with other yoga exercises. You need to take professional training to perform head stand.

Dear friends,
Devika has given us a valuable exercise to cut down on double chin.
My personal advice is please perform the exercise in front of a fitness guru or teacher and then carry on with it and not blame anyone for it later.
I know about a lady, who performed one of the exercise and jammed up her nerves forever! Now, her own family members call her pain 'psychological' and tease her for it as the pain is with her for more than a decade!

Hi Devika,
Sometimes we step in to help people and it may backfire on us, so it is better to be safe rather than getting in to unwanted problems.
When in trouble we have many people to blame, when we are happy and successful we tend to take the credit, that is how humans function!
Thanks for appreciating my feedback!

Mals, we are here to learn and grow. We can gather more knowledge if we keep our mind open for new ideas.

Surekha, today I was watching RachelRay show and she was trying to help people with double chin.
Some of the tips she gave along with using darker shade on the jaw line
1. Eat bubble gum to strengthen your jaw muscle. This will reduce double chin.
2. Lift your neck to look up and pull your tongue out (dont do in public:)
3. Highlight your eyes or cheeks or wear some heavy earrings to highlight these areas.
4. Make people concetrate on the area you want them to concetnrate so your double chin wont be shown.

Double Chin makes one look old, it is better to have a thin crane like neck with sharp jaw line.

Sit straight and look straight. Now , bring your upper jaw and lower jaw together. Your lips should be open. Now, act as if you are pushing your teeth with your tongue. Hold it for some time, say three minutes or as long as you can. You can feel the pressure in the chin area. Release and repeat as and when time permits. This is a fantastic remedy for double chin and note the difference after doing it regularly.

And Surekhapar,
