I like to apply henna for my hair. It is very expensive to go to beauty parlors and apply henna as I am in USA. Whenever I wash henna my plumbing from bathroom gets clogged. Now at my place whenver I take the name of henna, everybody gets freaked out. please help.

You can use ajax bleach to unclog the plumbing. To avoid that clogging wash your hairs in the kitchen sink. Bend over and use small cup to wash your hairs. Make sure there is sink strainer which will catch all your henna lumps. Most of your henna lumps will be caught by the strainer and then you can turn on the disposal to crush all henna.
Make sure your hair is clean of any henna and then you can take shower in your bathroom. Thsi process is uncomfortable but worth to avoid clogging of your plumbing.
I hope this helps.

How long do you wait after applying it. A good 2 to 3 hours is more than enough.

Rinse it with full running shower and make sure there is a strainer on your drain. It is just a powder and will get washed away with water.

Thanks gals for tips. Mals I keep henna for couple of hours but now I will stick to 2 to 3 hours. I cannot keep strainer in the tub. But I think banishapa's advice will work of washing henna in the kitchen sink by keeping strainer.

Sabrina, You can also collect all those lumps before washing henna and then wash it to avoid clogging of plumbing.

You can even use a thin muslin cloth first to strain the henna powder from rough particles before preparing the mix to apply on hair. That way, when u wash ur hair, just fine particles of henna dust would come out and would go easily in the drain.
