are you suffering from varicose veins/these appear as blue veins on legs and hands, but are more common on limbs.to avoid pain and sevear conditions, start wearing varicose leg stockings. i have found them very effective.
also,do not stand for a long time at a stretch.give some rest to your legs.put them on chair so that thelood flow is lowered. this will relieve the pressure on the veins.

Thanks Jyoti for the information. I heard that vercoise veins can be dangerous if not treated at inital stage. Avoid standing for long hours and also avoid wearing very high heels for a long time.

dear friend,
i have been suffering since 10 years but had to undergo laser surgery.hence, prevention is better than cure.so,as soon as these blue veins with swelling start appearing, one should start taking preventive measures. these appear soon after delievery and may occur due to over weight too.

Dr. Jyoti
One of my friend aslo suffered from varicose veins. She had forwarded me in the email
Prevention is better than cure
1. Elevate your legs when possible, keeping your feet positioned higher than heart level.
2. Exercise daily. Do Walking, climbing stairs (do not over do), cycling and swimming. Keep your calf muscles in motion to activate the calf muscle pump.
3. Move your legs frequently. Flexing your ankles periodically will pump the blood out of your legs. During periods of prolonged sitting or standing, flex your ankles 10 times and repeat this every 10 minutes.
4. Avoid sitting for extended periods throughout your day. Take special care on long drive or if you are travelling by air. Take a break every hour and walk for couple of minutes.
5. Maintain your body weight to reduce excess pressure on your legs.
