If one catches cold very frequently you need to get your blood work done and complete examination. you can try home remedy for cold which is not frequent. suck ginger candy or fresh ginger with jaggery. You can also make decoitation of ginger and jaggery

Amla has high content in vitamin C. Drink 1/4 cup of fresh Amla juice in the morning on empty stomach. If fresh Amla is not available try amla powder with hot water.

If she catches cold very easily she has less resistance against infections. Take a good look at her diet. Ask her to take more fruits and vegetables.
She must be doing some mistake which is affecting her like this. Is she allergic to dust or any such thing?
Does she take cold things when she is sweating? Just keep watch, you can find out the reason and correct it easily.

Thanks, Nurani for your tip. Yes, My sister drinks and eats lot of cold food once she comes home from hot sun and sweating. That may be the reason for her frequent cold and cough. Thanks a million. I will keep a watch on her.

You are welcome Sumina,
Sometimes things like that happen under our nose but we never give it a thought. Just make her understand that eating or drinking cold things when one is sweating will cause the sweat to get suppress the sweat. This is the reason why one gets cold often.
One tip is that drink a sip or two of ordinary water as soon as you take icecreams, you will never catch cold. I have seen it in my experience.

Hi Friend,
Frequent attack of cold and cough is a clear signal that the body is lacking immunity to fight back. Our WBC should be strong to block these diseases from penetrating in to your system.
How to build immunity! Firstly intake of Vitamin C is very important. As mentioned by few of my other friends here, I would advice you to wake up in the morning and have a big glass of Lauki ka juice (Lauki is also called as Dudhi! here in Mumbai). After an hour flush your system with amla juice.
Practice this for 15 days and see how you build up your immnunity.
Drink filtered water, always have a practice to WASH YOUR HANDS often!
Remember the KEYBOARD of your computer is a major virus carrier!
Do wash you hands with mild antiseptics before you touch your face!
The door handles of your house (main door / toilet door any door), the sponge you use to clean your vessels, the mop are all carriers of diseases and we have to make it a habit to wash our hands after we touch all these things. I empty two bottles of liquid dettol antiseptic wash easily in a month.
Never touch your lips / mouth and nose with dirty or dusty fingers.
Change the bedsheets quiet often, keep the bedroom airy at night.
Eat lots of oranges, lemon and do not forget to flush your system with water melon juice.
If you are a non veg eater, eat atleast 2 eggs a day.
Develop clean habits, eat healthily and keep diseases at bay.

Very detailed reply Malspie. What you say is right. Washing hands is a must whatever we do.
But 2 eggs a day will lead you to High Cholestrol levels, one per dayshould be enough. Don't you think so?
Vitamin C can take care of this by itself. No one ever seem to think of the ordinary fresh lime juice, the regular use of which can keep the cold away. Do not make it with the cold water, just ordinary water is enough.
Even drinking lime juice with hot water in the morning helps you to keep the cold away.

Hey Nurani,
Yes, simple tips can help us to have a healthy life, but we tend to miss on them.
Now when it comes to two eggs, there is no harm in eating it with brown bread.
No food is harmful to our health unless we eat and sit 'Put' at one place.
We need to eat well and work hard.

Ingredients
1/2 oz dried thyme
1/4 oz dried sage
1/4 oz dried chamomile
2 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp aniseed
20 cloves
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
Method:
Add all the ingredients to 1 litre of water, bring to the boil, cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes Allow the liquid to cool a little and strain into a clean saucepan. Press the herbs with the back of a spoon to extract all you can. The slower the reduction, the better.
Add equal amount of honey before drinking. Have 2 tbsp at a time 3 times a day.
You will get rid of cold and cough

Thanks Gals for all the advice. I have been implementing lot of these tips on her and she had cold just once since November and it did not last long. Usually it is more than twice a month. Thanks a lot . I appreciate it.
