Naarisakhi is happy to announce poem contest. Contribute poem in our poem and poet section (http://www.narisakhi.com/forum/upload/forumdisplay.php?f=72). All the poems contributed until May 15th 2009 will be selected. There will be poll on selected poems and members will select the winner.

Judges for Poem contest

SND Poojary (Shankar Narayana Dooja Poojary)

He is originally from Murngi House, Nakre, Karkala, Karnataka; however, at present he resides at Miramar, Goa. He holds two postgraduate degrees from Bombay University. He was a Faculty of MES College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, Goa , from 1973 to 2004 and retired as Vice - Principal in 2004. He writes poetry and his poems have been published in the Akshaya and the Gurutu monthlies of Mumbai; and in the Tuluva tri-monthly published from Udupi. His poems also appeared in the Navhind Times of Goa. He contributes to the Goan English dailies and Pune Mirror, a supplement of
Times of India. He has translated into English verse, a Tulu folk epic, consisting of 4013 lines; and the translated version entitled, Epic of the Warriors, has been published by the National Folklore Support Centre, Chennai. His, another book in translation, The Tale of Twin Warrior is in the press, awaiting publication.

Rajashree Bandodkar
Rajashree's passion is to do constructive work which helps in developing communities,build up positive relationships & make science easy for the general public.She is a lecturer in physics, presently devoting 100% to her sweet little angels so that when they grow up, India will be proud to add them in the group of 'better citizens.'
Astrophysicist from India, Dr. Jayant Narlikar,has guided her into the mission of popularising science and make it easy for general reader. Two books published by Rajashree are VIDNYAN YOGI (life history & scientific work of 22 renowned scientists) and SAIMAKADEN SAMVAD(dialogue with nature),both in her regional language KONKANI. Her third book on the 'skies' will be out very very soon. She had also worked on a message based animated short film on ENVIRONMENT.
It is also well appreciated by the media & general public. She is working on the next social based film & a book on EINSTEIN.

wonderful news, naarisakhi, good motivation but would be glad if you can narrow it to one subject that way you get people to write about one subject and easy to decide a good poem just like your food contest it was palak and all contributed for that and it was easy to choose from, sorry if i hurt ur feelings here just a thought...sunkan
