I have read many many blogs about love, how it hurts, how good it is, and so on...Some say they get red roses and that is love. Some women get diamonds and that is love!.. Which always left me thinking do these people even know what Love is.
Let me start with what its not. And then say what it is.
Love can never hurt. It can never wound nor scar or make one cry.
Love is a very chaste emotion that is totally unconditional. It creates and sustains life. It makes one reborn. Reenergized. To feel the vital all over again.
Today I celebrate my 26th wedding anniversary and I have known seen and felt this incredible feeling called love through my husband.
When I was really down in my life, harassed by some low life scums, there were times I decided its not worth living after all. I heard my husbands voice calling my name and comforting me. I felt him with me. That was when I felt the power of true love and realised what is true love.
At that time,my husband was not even in the same country as I. He was travelling on work and was on a different continent. His true love for me transcended all the continents and all the oceans to reach me and give me life.
Today we do not exchange any gifts. I do not really need anything.
With my husband with me I feel I have everything I can ever ask for. His unconditional love for me has helped me survive and has given me life and a purpose to live.
Every day is a miracle of life and birth. Joy and peace in my heart that I live for my husband. My purpose is to be able to serve my husband till my last breath. In this I find happiness an immense joy and everlasting peace.

    Thank you. I have worked very hard at it. When most women I know go to the malls and spend time shopping and watching movies I invested my time in my marriage. So today i can see that result. thanks.

    I agree with all that you have written, except for one!

    I enjoy taking and giving gifts, I make sure, I often surprise my loved one with something special for them.

    It gives me immense joy to shop for my loved ones.The smile on their face lifts me to the Seventh Heaven.

    I do agree, love does not mean Gifts,, it is the pleasure that I seek in giving gifts that maketh the difference.

    Giving and taking gifts is special. Nothing wrong with it.
    I think I must be atleast twice as old as you ... my husband and I have reached a level where we are at perfect peace with each other... the gift is our own self.. our soul..
    If you were to hire a new maid you would spend time training her the way you want things done
    after a year of training chances are she has improved and her level is more advanced
    As all of near the twilight zones of our lives we can fully see that material things have no value and so seek to give something that one carry when one dies
    Prayers, chants meditation are what benefits the soul
    My gift for my husband is all the above.

    i tried to post my fb twice,and the server gave me a kick.i hope this one reaches its destination.anandchitra,you and me have reached a saturation level,as you said,where gifts and saying those three words has lost its dimentions.after spending a few important years together with our spouse,can change even our loks and we start looking as brother sister.it becomes a habit and both of them cannot do without the other.love is the key to their successful married life.
