Just in time for Valentine’s Day.


Valentine’s Day is just around the corner which makes me remember of saint valentine who was a Christian martyrs and who started the tradition of Valentine’s Day. This day I believe is a day where we can express our love to our loved ones by presenting flowers, sending greeting cards and not to forget remembering sweet memories of our dear ones, and blessings of our elders.

Yesterday as I was taking my morning walk, I was just thinking of a valentine day gift for my husband and as the items on my list went on increasing my list suddenly had to stop and my eyes caught a view of a nice gift. I saw a kid say to his mom. Mother will u be my valentine and give me blessings as my Valentine’s Day gift and she sweetly kissed her mom. Oh god it was a terrific moment my eyes and heart just captured this view like a picture forever. I went home and as I was thinking about this beautiful picture and going over it again and again I realized something. Something missing. Well after I kept thinking what it could be suddenly the phone rang I saw the number it was my mom and then it struck me that just in time for valentines day I miss my parents I miss my valentine . I Call them everyday and talk to them thanks to vonage(voice over internet) facility here. But didn’t know what happened that day the emotion was so painful, a pain where I could not get a painkiller too. Guess no pharmacy too had over the counter medicine to the pain. So I thought to write something to them to express my love and feelings and this is for them:

My lovely parent’s who are my perfect valentine and I love everything about them and that’s why I say “Be my valentine every day forever”. On this lovely day of love I think about the ones I treasure and Mom Dad you are the ones who bring so much of pleasure. I hoped for much but you gave me much more than that much. I love and admire you and I am so proud to be a part of you. I will always remember and cherish the best times I had with you though they were very few.

Mom Dad you are the gem of my life without you I couldn’t have been the light of our life. Whatever I am today I owe it to your wisdom, your patience, your love and strength. I know when I was a kid I drove you crazy but mother father I know now that god took the strength of a mountain, majesty of a tree ,the generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, and joy of the morning in spring and combined all of these into a complete masterpiece and he called it you. My pranks and fights were forgiven by you and this is what made our relationship so cute. When I glance through my childhood photographs I just remember the life I spent with you and a strong foundation you built for me a foundation who can never take away. As role models you both taught me how to believe in myself and how to control myself. Even when we had tough times you held me together like a sun giving the warmth to my life.

Dad when you were gone for work I always waited when u would be back to listen to me and I could share my days listings with you. I am happy that I listened to you and shared every bit of my life with you. Mom with you life was a happy game and your only aim to love me brought all the fame. No one has given me the love that you gave me. That eternal love is like a photo framed in my heart. I look at the frame and I feel so relaxed and my day’s pain just drains. This frame is the perfect example for my children. On this Valentines Day I say u have a forever flame in my heart.

When I was young, Dad you chased away my fears as the years passed by mom you taught me important lessons and washed away my tears. Mom Dad you took sometime for fun and this was the only way my homework was done with a bun and then play with the toy gun. Mom Dad In my growing years it was only you I could depend on as you were always there for me like a guide and a friend.

Now I am fully grown and married but I still love and respect you and I look upon you as heroes. I m glad you are my perfect mom and dad. You are one in a million and would be the same in a trillion and a zillion. I understand what u did for me and I can never forget it, believe me I will do the same for my children too.

Dad I still feel u r my solid foundation and rock and Mom I am blessed with you. I hope u know all these things and last but not the least your daughter's affection for you is strong, And her love continues to grow for you. Mom and Dad, along life's path, your love and care has shown the way. I m glad you both are mine and deep in my heart you will be my only and only valentine. I will love u always forever and nothing can part me from you.
